Adventist Health Castle | Windward Health | Summer 2020

Made for more cool moves. Adventist Health Castle was awarded an “A” in the spring 2020 Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade, a national distinction recognizing Castle’s achievements providing safer health care. The Leapfrog Group is an independent national watchdog organization committed to health care quality and safety. The Safety Grade is a letter grade assigned to all general hospitals across the country and updated every six months, assessing how well the hospital prevents medical errors and other harms to patients. “Keeping everyone safe is a priority here at Adventist Health Castle,” says Erik Anderson, patient care executive. “We are proud to receive this ‘A’ rating from Leapfrog and grateful to all of our associates for their dedication to ensuring that everyone who visits our medical center receives safe, quality health care, whether it’s for COVID-19, stroke, broken bones, or behavioral or other health issues.” Keeping you safe at Adventist Health Castle We have all been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, and we want you to know that at Adventist Health Castle, we are working diligently to ensure the safety of our patients, visitors and associates. As we move forward, we want you to be aware that we are taking the necessary steps to maintain a safe care environment in the days, weeks and months ahead. What we are doing to ensure safe care Screening everyone entering the hospital. All patients, associates and limited-access visitors are screened for symptoms, temperature, travel history and other risk factors prior to entering our hospital. Cleanliness. Our environmental services team thoroughly sanitizes rooms, registration areas, waiting rooms and patient care areas, paying extra attention to high-touch, high-traffic areas. Physical distancing. Seating in public spaces, including waiting rooms, has been adjusted to allow for appropriate physical distancing. Patient appointments are appropriately timed to avoid large groups of patients in lobbies and waiting areas. Patients and visitors are encouraged to stand or sit 6 feet apart while waiting for appointments and completing the registration process. Face masks. All patients, associates and limited-access visitors are required to wear a mask while in our facilities. Personal protective equipment (PPE) for our associates. All of our Adventist Health associates have access to the necessary PPE that is appropriate for the level of patient care they provide.
