New year, new services HAPPY NEW YEAR! As we enter a new year, we are expanding services with state-of- the-art technology and growing our care delivery footprint. This issue of Windward Health talks about our unique advantages through robotic- assisted surgery, our urgent care acquisition and the importance of heart health. Know your risk This may or may not come as a surprise to you, but heart disease is very common, and there are certain risk factors that make heart attacks more likely to happen. Here, you’ll learn about those risk factors and how you can take a free heart health assessment to understand your heart age. New urgent care options We also go over our recent acquisition of Urgent Care Hawaii, which occurred on Dec. 1, 2021. Urgent Care Hawaii has three state-of-the- art urgent care facilities in Kailua, Kapolei and Pearl City that provide immediate infant, pediatric, adult and geriatric care. Beyond the typical urgent care services, they also offer laboratory, X-ray and telehealth services, along with occupational medicine and COVID-19 testing. This acquisition represents an important milestone for Adventist Health Castle, as it furthers our goal of expanding access to care not only here in Windward O`ahu, but also throughout the entire island. Urgent care services have been a missing component for our organization, and we couldn’t be more excited for Urgent Care Hawaii to join our `ohana. High-tech options for Castle surgeons Lastly, we are pleased to offer advanced surgical capabilities through our state-of-the-art NAVIO and da Vinci Xi surgical systems. These robotic-assisted systems translate the surgeon’s hand movements into smaller, more precise movements of the surgical instruments. Our highly trained surgeons are always in complete control of the instruments, and they support a less invasive technique than traditional surgery. Benefits often include a shorter hospital stay, reduced blood loss, reduced scarring and a faster recovery. These systems offer our surgeons superior visualization and greater precision for minimally invasive procedures. Education on your heart health, expansion of services throughout the island of O`ahu by adding urgent care services, and investment into state- of-the-art technology is a testament of Adventist Health Castle’s commitment to delivering high- quality, safe patient care with an outstanding patient experience to the communities we serve.
